Research
My research is currently funded by an ERC Advanced Grant (PrimiGenomes) and a Swedish Research Council Rådsprofessor Grant (2021-00625). My scientific interests are focused on the use of DNA technology to investigate the ecology and evolution of different species throughout the Pleistocene, and how past environmental changes have determined the distribution and abundance of organisms.
At present, the work we are doing in my research group is aimed at investigating mammalian demographic change, adaptive evolution, and hybridisation during the last 2.5 million years, especially in the context of Pleistocene climate change. We are currently working on several projects on different wild animals, for example mammoths, lemmings, bears, and bison.
